Bringing together a range of researchers the day is painting a nuanced picture of the blurred edges between consent and non-consent in rough sex. Professor Nicola Garvey pointed out the coercive nature of normalisation: it equips people who act out aggression with new ideas. Professor Garvey also pointed out that social expectations and pressures influence what we desire.
